THE AUTISM PROJECT MEGA YARD SALE

The Autism Project Inc., a non-profit organization is holding a Mega Yard Sale on 

Saturday May 10th, 2008 from 7:00am - 5:00pm. It will be held at The Gaither Homestead, 3361 Hall Creek Lane, Owings, Maryland 20736. 

You’ll find the treasures you’ve been looking for! Toys, Games, Puzzles, Books, Videos, Dolls, Clothes, Bags, Baby Accessories, Kitchen Housewares, Home Décor’, Bed & Bath Linens, School Supplies, Knick-Knacks, Homemade Crafts, &  one Wurlitzer piano! And let’s not forget the delicious homemade goodies!

You will have the chance to meet some children first hand as they serve you at their Mega Yard Sale Event.  What's more importantly, you will learn more about Autism, the fastest-growing developmental disability in the United States.   Every 21 minutes a child is diagnosed with autism and now affects as many as    1 in every 150 children born in the United States. 

“The Autism Project, Inc.”, mission is to educate, advocate, and empower individuals on the autism spectrum, support their families and build mutually beneficial relationships throughout our community.  We reach out to our families, friends, neighbors, business leaders and politicians to take up our cause. This is our opportunity to help you understand our children and the crisis of autism affecting our nation.  

• We need to highlight our children's strengths, while showing their challenges.

• We need parents of toddlers to understand the signs, so that other affected children can receive early intervention and improved outcomes.
• We need to push for greater understanding and significant increases in funding for education and research, so that we can achieve our goals of treating and curing autism.
• We need to spread the message of hope, for our children and for future generations.
