Family Training
These highly individualized services are designed for family members and caretakers of individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Basic behavior principles, strategies for enhancing communication, sensory integration techniques and visual systems are but a few of the areas covered. Ideally, family trainings are done in the home of the student to further enhance generalization of skills. Family trainings may be ongoing or selective to times of crisis only.
Home Program Consultations
These services are provided to families who are looking to provide a home program for their child. This is often done for younger children who are looking to supplement programs from Infants and Toddlers or Early Childhood Programs, but it can be used for older students as well. The Autism Project will direct the home program by detailing both what to teach and how best to teach it. It is up to the family to locate and hire therapists. The Autism Project will train the staff and conduct regular staff meetings to update progress and plan new treatment goals. These consultations typically take place every 8 weeks but can be done more if desired.
IEP Services
These services may include developing an IEP, assisting with modifications and accommodations, IEP attendance or researching school placements.
